So I came across GivenPure a couple months ago when a colleague shared a link to a fundraiser for a local family who lost their home in a fire. I had never heard of the site before, so I spent a good ten minutes just clicking around and reading their about page before I felt comfortable enough to donate. The website itself feels clean and modern, which I appreciate, and everything loads pretty quickly on both my laptop and my phone. The navigation is straightforward, and I never felt like I was getting lost in a maze of menus or popups.
One thing I really liked was how easy the actual donation process was. I picked an amount, entered my card info, and within maybe thirty seconds I had a confirmation email in my inbox. It really was that simple. I also noticed you can add a little tip to help support the platform, which is optional, and I think that is a nice transparent way of handling fees rather than hiding them somewhere in fine print. That said, the customization for the campaign pages could definitely use some work. I browsed a few different fundraisers, and while some looked really polished with great photos and clear stories, others felt kind of bare bones and templated. I get that not everyone is a designer, but it would be cool if there were more built in layouts or color options so organizers could make their pages stand out a bit more without having to figure everything out themselves.
Another small detail I liked was the optional gift feature. After I donated, the organizer sent me a quick thank you message through the platform, and a couple weeks later I actually got a small bracelet in the mail as a little token of appreciation. It was totally unexpected and honestly made the whole experience feel more personal than just clicking a donate button and forgetting about it. I think that kind of thing goes a long way in building trust and making donors feel like their contribution actually mattered to a real person.
The only real downside, and it is why I am giving four stars instead of five, is that the search function feels a little basic. I tried looking up a different fundraiser I had heard about from a friend, and it took me a few tries to find it because the search does not seem to handle partial names or typos very well. If they could improve that and maybe add a few more customization tools for the campaign creators, this would easily be a five star platform for me. Still, I have already come back twice to donate to other causes, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants a simple, trustworthy way to give back.
